# Classes and gradebook

> Open classes, check grades, enter scores, submit grades, and review grade changes.

Use this guide when you need anything related to classes, grades, or the gradebook.
Choose the tab that matches what you are doing.

    Use this when you want to check a class, schedule, grade item, or published
    grade.

        Use the sidebar or search and open **Classes**.

        Select the class you want to check.

      <Step title="Open Overview">
        Check the schedule, teachers, credits, sessions, and class details.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Open Grade items">
        Review quizzes, exams, projects, and activities your teacher has published.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Check grades">
        Open the grade view available to you. Published scores appear after the
        teacher releases them.
      </Step>

      If a score is missing, it may still be a draft. Ask the teacher if the grade
      item has been published. If a published grade looks wrong, tell your teacher
      so they can correct it or request an amendment.

    Use this when you need to enter scores, publish grade items, or submit grades
    for review.

      <Step title="Open your class">
        Go to **Classes**, choose the class, then open **Gradebook**.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Create grade items">
        Add each quiz, exam, project, or activity under the correct grading period.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Enter scores">
        Type scores in the gradebook grid. Use bulk entry when entering scores for
        one activity across many students.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Review computed grades">
        Check each student's running totals and final computed grade before
        submitting.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Publish grade items">
        Publish items when students should see their scores.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Submit grades">
        When score entry is complete, lock the period if required and submit grades
        for review.
      </Step>

    **Fix a grade**

    Use the right path:

    | ------------------------------------ | --------------------------------- |
    | Scores are still editable            | Edit the gradebook directly.      |
    | Period is locked but not approved    | Request an unlock.                |
    | Grade was already approved or posted | Submit a grade amendment request. |

      student, class, old grade, and new grade before submitting.

    Use this when a grade submission or grade amendment is assigned to you.

        Open **Approvals** when a review task is assigned to you.

      <Step title="Review the scope">
        Check whether the task affects one student, one grading period, or a whole
        class.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Read comments and changes">
        Review teacher notes, returned comments, changed grades, and affected
        students.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Choose an action">
        Approve, reject, or return the work. Add comments when returning or
        rejecting.
      </Step>

    Use this when you manage class and grading setup across the school.

        Create grading periods, grading schemes, grading scales, and transmutation
        scales before teachers submit grades.

        Go to the school-wide class list, open the class, then use the class tabs.

        Check students, grade items, score entry, locks, submissions, and amendment
        requests.

        Use unlocks or amendment workflows when official grades need correction.

    **Fix a grade**
